who am i and why are you here?
Who am I? This is a question to which I don't have a good answer anymore. I've had the incredible opportunity to wear many hats throughout this lifetime, some identities lasting much longer than others. I like to say I'm just a guy wandering through this existence open to all the lessons that have yet to unfold. But the right answer to this question is, there is no right answer. We are products of our environments. In my adult life, I've been an athlete, an artist, a corporate ladder climber, a nomad, a humanitarian, a photographer, a writer, and now perhaps I'm a little of everything - jumping in and out of identities depending on life circumstance. But does any of this really matter? I like to think not. What's more important is what we carry with us into all of these different life roles. Not the material possessions or social statuses, but the character traits and qualities that develop over time and allow us to face life's challenges head on.
This will not be your normal travel blog. I will not tell you how to get from point A to point B or share any 'top 10 things to do'. You can go elsewhere for that. What I will give you is honesty and transparency into where all of these roads have and continue to lead me. Perhaps you're searching for an answer. Perhaps you're wondering why you're here, if there's more to life somewhere outside of your current reality. If fulfillment and purpose can be found or created. Perhaps you want to escape, numb, desire companionship, feel misunderstood by society, or are unable to find peace because something doesn't feel or seem quite right. Or perhaps you are just curious. The question and/or situation doesn't matter. What matters is knowing that wherever you are, you're not alone in your feelings, because I and others have faced them too. This road does lead somewhere. That's why I created this. I cannot claim to have answers for you. No one else can tell you how to live or who you're supposed be. It's up to you to find that truth for yourself. But I can provide a glimpse into my own story so that maybe you can find a piece that helps you write yours. Onward!
